There's a lot of clamour and yakking going on in the media about how conservatives and others are revolting against Trumpcare and may defeat the bill in Congress. I don't believe it for a second.
In the end, these GOP wimps will face an avalanche from Trump and will cave to his demands as they always do. Trump will launch a full-blown campaign of lies, lies, lies in proclaiming that all Americans will be covered at less cost than Obamacare. His knuckle-dragging troglodyte followers will nod and say "yup".
But, here's the real deal on why Obama and Democrats would still win even if Trumpcare passes. For the first time in the history of America, the Republican Party will have have passed a Health Care Act, with some subsidies for the poor, for Americans. Before Obamacare this idea was totally anathema to them. It was socialism and they vowed to never, ever go down this path. Guess what? They're marching down that path now.
This is a huge change of course for Republicans and a victory for President Obama and the Democratic Party. It's called 'change' with even a dose of hope thrown in for good measure. The GOP had to submit to the fact that the benefits provided by Obamacare could not simply be undone and repealed carte blanche.
Trumpcare, if passed, could then be amended and improved by subsequent Democratic administrations. It could even be made better than Obamacare is today. Despite the short term pain for many, Americans would be set on a course to eventually get something close to, or even maybe, universal health care.
Trump voters are stone-cold stupid. They need a solid dose of reality. They need to be hurt in the pocket books and even perhaps in their sick beds. If Trumpcare does pass and they are faced with higher premiums, less or no health coverage, co-pays and higher deductibles they will deserve it.
Personally, I'm not going to feel sorry for any of them. They will get the health care they deserve and the Trump plan they voted for. Did Trump lie to them? Of course, he lies about everything but they still believe him.
The same logic applies to all the democrats who couldn't be bothered to vote in the last election. They will get what they deserve too. Only a 2 x 4 across the head will wake up Americans to the fact that they've been conned by the biggest snake oil salesman in history - Donald Trump.
